This series of artworks deals with tyranny in Mainland China. There are so many atrocities perpetrated by this tyrannical government, it's hard to pick one to stand out. However, forced organ harvesting stands out as a new low even for China. On June 17, 2019, an independent tribunal concluded that "forced organ harvesting has been committed for years throughout China on a significant scale, [and] the tribunal has had no evidence that the significant infrastructure associated with China's transplantation industry has been dismantled and absent a satisfactory explanation as to the source of readily available organs concludes that forced organ harvesting continues till today." The sources include imprisoned Falun Gong, practitioners and Uighur Muslims. Read the article in the June publication of Forbes Magazine or read the findings for yourself (search for China Tribunal). The irony of the suppression of Falun Gong is that it is a practice of peace in the tradition of Taoism. This is only one atrocity in a long list of atrocities that the world chooses to ignore. There has been the invasion and subjugation of peaceful Tibet and The Tiananmen Square Massacre to name a few more. Why would any civilized country want to do business with China. People look the other way to save a few dollars by having products made by a suppressed people who put in 16 hour work days, 6 days a week, not to mention the slave labor in the prisons. With the work done in China the rest of the world can ignore the inconvenient costs of decent working conditions and pollution standards. We should all be ashamed of where our governments and business have led us.
