Photo of painting with poem layered on digitally. Here is the poem:

In the Presence

Granted a presence in washed watch of forest,
We attended extensive crown of the blessed.
In cathedral noted for varied vaulted ceiling,
Prismed leaves scattered light clinging, shifting.
Coveted beauty sang sweet swirl of descent
Of life well played in service to the arrangement.

Is it for grievances of the fallen that we crave
Approbation of the litany of our walled citadels?

Are we who we were unformed, uninformed?
The identity remains seated, the center retained
In rise and descent, In first breath and last
The center remains within and without past
Or future without doubt there when here.

Is it for grievances of the fallen that we crave
Approbation of the litany of our walled citadels?

The decayed floor of past only submits to the present.
In mystery’s continuous grip, grievances are labyrinths
That conceal us in the unrelenting clutter of the mind.
A discerning ruler listens from vantage of stillness
To whispered songs passing on unseen tongues
Of muted colors, as the fluid rhythm releases
A final drum beat of colors crushed in the rush.
A courtly white plume signals the unmarked path.
